A/C Replacement Options and Services for Stafford
Is your A/C unit ten years old or older? Has it been giving you trouble? If so, it’s time to consider replacing your unit.
Over time, you are bound to run into some issues with your HVAC system: evaporator coils freeze, condensate drain lines clog, refrigerant can start leaking. Some of these issues can be avoided with regular maintenance. But after about a decade of heating and cooling your home, a lot of parts can start to fail at once, or affect other parts of your A/C system. At this point, it’s often more cost-effective and better for the overall comfort of your home to upgrade to a new HVAC system.
Another reason you may want to replace your A/C system if it’s over 10 years old is because the refrigerant it uses will no longer be available after 2020 due to the phase out of R-22. If you have an A/C system that uses R-22 refrigerant and it leaks after 2020, you will have to replace your indoor and outdoor A/C units to a system that uses R-410A, the new standard refrigerant.
Waiting to replace your A/C could cost you more money. Plan ahead and take advantages of rebates tax refunds, and John Moore’s 5 years no interest financing on qualifying systems!Call John Moore or contact us here to start planning for your new HVAC system!
HVAC Repairs & Maintenance from the John Moore Team
One of the best ways to keep your A/C system in optimal working condition is through regular maintenance.
You should be replacing your home’s indoor air filter every month or so. But there are other maintenance procedures that could extend the life of your A/C system and catch any potential problems before they get out of hand. For instance, your condensate drain line should be cleaned once every quarter to prevent back-up from algae. And inspecting and cleaning your A/C systems coils can prevent refrigerant leaks. If not taken care of, leaks, frozen coils, and backed-up drain lines can lead to larger problems like water damage or the need for a new A/C system.
If you haven’t had your A/C inspected in over a year, we recommend our 28-point HVAC inspection and tune-up. And if you notice any leaks, uneven air distribution, or odd noises when your A/C compressor turns on, you should call an HVAC technician before it becomes a bigger problem. For A/C maintenance and repairs in Stafford, call John Moore at 713-730-2525.
