HVAC System Replacement

Is it about that time for a new air conditioner? If you frequently have to repair part of your A/C system or if it runs on R-22 refrigerant, then it may be time for a new unit.

R-22 is classified as a CFC (ozone depleting chemical) and is scheduled to be phased out as of 2020. So if your system is leaks R-22 after the year 2020, you may have no other choice but to replace it with a system that is compatible with the new, ozone friendly refrigerant, R-410A. You can find out what type of refrigerant your HVAC system uses by looking at the fine print on the manufacturer’s data plate, on the condenser of your outside unit, or the air handler on the inside unit. You might also find a separate sticker on the condenser with the refrigerant spelled out in tall letters. 2020 is right around the corner, so now’s the time to start researching and planning for which system will meet your needs.

You may also want to consult a John Moore A/C expert if you are remodeling or adding an extension to your Heights home. We will perform a heat load calculation to assess the appropriate tonnage needed to accommodate the added space and advise you on whether or not you will need to replace your system.

John Moore Licensed Technicians

Hear what our customers are saying about our employees and our service.

I could not have asked for better quality in service. The customer service when I called on Saturday evening was superb despite the inability to send a technician that evening. Terry was courteous and respectful of my time and family while at my home. He quoted me the repairs prior to completing any work which was greatly appreciated. I would recommend John Moore, more specifically Terry A as a technician for any work that is required.

I had the luxury of working with Troy W. of John after Hurricane Harvey caused my hot water to go out due to the caulking on my roof. Troy discovered it was the caulking on my roof that needed repair, because of it's leakage, it caused my pilot light to go out, he lit it and arranged for Charles R., the roofer, to come out and repair the caulking on the roof. The repair work was done in one day. They worked as a team to ensure that it was done. I called John and I got Moore! Thank you Troy and Charles!
