Tankless Water Heaters
What are Tankless Water Heaters?
Tankless Water Heaters provide hot water only as it is the need for it arises as opposed to traditional storage water heaters.
How does a Tankless Water Heater work?
A tankless water heater heats water instantaneously. Tankless water heaters have an electric, gas, or propane heating device they use to heat water. The heater provides a constant supply of hot water when it is activited. Most tankless water heaters provide hot water at a rate of 2 – 5 gallons per minute. Generally, a gas-fired tankless water heater will produce a better flow rate than an electric tankless water heater. However, a tankless water heater is not necessarily equipped for multi-use. As a solution to this problem you can install either a “whole house” system or more than one unit to satisfy all your hot water needs.
Hot water at a preset temperature, without the need for storage, is delivered with tankless water heaters; therefore, reducing or eliminating standby losses. Tankless water heaters can also be used for supplementary heat.
Since tankless water heaters save energy, they also save money. An average household’s annual energy expenses consist of at least 20% for water heating. Using a tankless water heating system can save you money in the long run. Although they are more expensive than traditional heaters, they save you hundreds of dollars each year.
