Did You Know?
Each year, over 15,000 home fires involve the
breaker panel?
Federal officials emphasize that frequently blown fuses, hot or dead outlets and other problems aren’t just nuisances; they are serious warning signs of electrical hazards. As your electrical panel ages, connections become loose. Oxidation and pests can cause damage to the wiring and connections, reducing their ability to conduct electricity. This causes a build-up of heat and a reduction in the efficiency of the electrical system. Normal wear and tear over the years can pose dangerous conditions which need to be examined.
If your home is 15 years or older, a John Moore qualified licensed electrician will come to your home and perform an Electrical Panel Inspection FREE so you can have peace of mind. Help ensure your family’s safety before you have a problem. Schedule today!
Most insurance companies recommend that your home electrical panel be inspected and maintained once every three years, yet the majority of homes are never inspected until a problem crops up.
John Moore Electrical Panel Inspection includes:
- Inspect electrical panel exterior (rust, water leakage).
- Inspect interior- checking for bugs, pest damage, condensation and the grounding of the panel itself.
- Inspect condition of breakers. We are looking for worn breakers or breakers that get hot but are not tripping.
- Inspect the breaker buss. Consists of the bars in the back of the panel which the breakers stab into, get power from.
- Inspect buss condition to exclude burn spots or corrosion. Inspect for hot spots on the panel.
- Thoroughly inspect all connections on the breaker screws and grounding terminals. Loose connections can be hazardous.
